Neighbourhood map

Built before the war, it certainly is the oldest house available in Kyoto. The most genuinely Japanese too, since besides a small room, the floor of which is covered with parquet, it was made in the beginning of the last century’s style. Located in a quiet alley, fifty metres from the Philosopher's path, not far from the Silver Pavilion.

One-level house: 1 Japanese room which can accommodate 2 futons, 1 dining room around a Kotatsu and a large sitting room with 6 Tatamis, 1 European bedroom with 2 single beds, Furo (Japanese bath), bathroom, WC, kitchen, air conditioning.

The house is located a few metres from the popular walkway of Kyoto's residents, the Philosopher's Path.
Slightly hidden in a residential area near Ginkaku-ji, you will find lots of restaurants on the path back as well as a small fresh produce market, Daikokuya.
Bus stops to easily connect to the city's other tourist areas are located a few minutes away by foot from the house.

We will be leaving for Osaka tomorrow! Feels really sad to leave Kyoto, this magical city! Not mentioning such a cute traditional Japanese house, the beautiful neighborhood and the friendly people here - things we will certainly miss.

We have been to a lot of places over the 6 days days in Kyoto. All amazing places! The best of all, we've seen SNOW in Kyoto today! Everything is white - it's so beautiful!!

Thank you Daniel for your welcome and help ! :-D We will be back !

This house has exceptional charm which makes us regret leaving it every morning to visit Kyoto. Sitting in the small lounge, looking at the sun in the entrance hall, enjoying a moment of absolute calm, you can't help feeling you've gone back in time. Thank you very much to our Travel Angel who went to a lot of effort to ensure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. With their assistance and charm, the stay was successful right from day one.
