Stretch of open-air market!

Located between Ueno and Okachimachi stations, Ameyoko is Tokyo's most prominent street food market. The street is a lively open-air market with these 400 meters of shops spread along the Yamanote Line! You can find everything: clothing, fashion accessories, fruit, and vegetables... But it is above all for its food stalls that Ameyoko is famous today, several dozen stalls that reflect the multi-cultural heritage that the district has forged over the past 70 years!

  • Candies and sweets

True to its name, Ameyoko is also famous for its sweets. Some businesses even offer to fill bags with Japanese sweets for only 1,000 yen ($8/7€), such as the favorite Shimura Candy Shop, a store specializing in the sale of local confectionery for over 35 years!
