house Nishi Ume

An entire two storey modern Machiya building

There are two bedrooms with traditional sliding doors and traditonal beddings, Japanese futon.

The tatami tea room downstairs opens out into the dining area and an open kitchen.
The Panasonic system kitchen looks out into a minimalist backyard. It is equipped with built-in cooker hob and exhaust, a fish grill underneath, and multi-menu controls. The microwave has oven and grilling functionalities as well. A fridge is there to keep your drinks cold.

The bath area is divided into dry and wet areas. The washer in the dry area, gives your laundry a Silver Ion anti-bacterial wash. A hair dryer is provided in the vanity drawer and toiletries in the cabinet.

The bathroom climate is programmable to recycle, cool, or heat air. Inside, you can preset your bath water settings at the bathtub control panel or at the other control panel in the kitchen. Also, you get to relax in a full-sized bathtub instead of the compacted versions. There is also an attached shower.

The toilet with automated bidet is separate.

Ground floor: kitchen / dining room, Japanese tea room, Japanese bath (shower and Japanese furo bath) and toilet.
Upper floor: two bedrooms with Japanese bedding (futon), balcony.

Easy walk to UNESCO Nishihonganji, Kyoto Aquarium, Umekoji Park and a mini version of the Tsukiji Fish Market, with seafood, kitchenware and crockery. Buses to Kinkakuji and Gion at doorstep.

A big thanks to Toni and Aurore who have been taking.care of this lovely house, I had a great time with my family in Kyoto. The house is located nearby Kyoto station and 10 mins walking distance to the aquarium, it is quite convenient for us to go anywhere as the bus stop is just 200m away. Not to mention there are FamilyMart and 711 nearby. Tony and Aurore are very nice and helpful, it’s really nice to know them. I will definitely recommend this house to my friends who are planning to visit Kyoto :)
