De route tussen Fukuoka en Nagasaki wordt bediend door de Limited Express Kamome-treinen. Voor een geweldig uitzicht op de Ariake-zee moet u een stoel aan de linkerkant van de trein reserveren.
De Kamome trein
Deze route wordt bediend door de Limited Express Kamome-treinen en wordt gedekt door de Japan Rail Pass, de All Kyushu Pass en de North Kyushu Pass. Voor een geweldig uitzicht op de Ariake-zee moet u een stoel aan de linkerkant van de trein reserveren als u van Fukuoka naar Nagasaki reist.

You can start to see the beautiful Ariake Sea on the left side of the train. Once a year, Kashima holds the Kashima Gatalympics, an event made purely to try and put the city on the map. Teams from all over the world compete in Olympic-style games, but in thick mud leading to interesting consequences.

NAGASAKI VREDEPARK
Het park, het Atomic Bomb Museum en Hypocenter Park zijn een ontnuchterende plek om stil te staan bij de gebeurtenissen van 1945 en het enorme verlies aan mensenlevens dat de stad heeft geleden. Dagelijks geopend behalve van 29 tot 31 december, 8:30 tot 18:00 uur, ¥200.
GUNKANJIMA
Ongeveer 20 km voor de kust van Nagasaki ligt Gunkanjima 'Battleship Island', beroemd gemaakt in de James Bond-film Skyfall als inspiratiebron voor de baddies lair. Met een recent toegevoegde aanlegsteiger kun je landen en een beetje dichter bij wat ooit de dichtstbevolkte plek op aarde was.
3 uur boottochten, ongeveer ¥ 4000. Reserveren aanbevolen in het weekend en tijdens feestdagen.
