Nagoya Buses 名古屋駅のバス
Nagoya City Bus opposite Atsuta Jingu at Jingu-mae Station, Nagoya
Two main bus companies operate in Nagoya: blue and white Nagoya City Buses and red and white Meitetsu Buses.
Nagoya City Buses serve the metropolitan area of Nagoya while Meitetsu buses operate in the wider area of Aichi Prefecture including Arimatsu, Chiryu, Gamagori, Ichinomiya, Inuyama (including Meiji Mura), Kasugai, Narumi, Okazaki, Seto, Toyota and Tsushima. Meitetsu Buses usually connect to stations on the Meitetsu Railway network.
Meitetsu also operates a network on long distance highway buses to other towns and cities in Japan radiating from Meitetsu Bus Center in the Meitetsu Department Store Building close to Meitetsu Nagoya Station.
Meitetsu limousine buses also run to and from Chubu International Airport to the south of Nagoya.

Nagoya City Bus Terminals & Routes
There are two main bus terminals for Nagoya City Buses in Nagoya:.
Nagoya Station Bus Terminal located between JR Gate Tower Nagoya and JP Tower Nagoya at the Sakura-dori (East) Exit of JR Nagoya Station.
Sakae Bus Terminal (Oasis 21) located within the Oasis 21 Building in Sakae, the main shopping and entertainment area of the city.
Some Nagoya City Buses also leave from the Meitetsu Bus Center.
Me~guru Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus
The Me~guru Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus departs from Gate 11 of Nagoya Station Bus Terminal. This is the most useful bus for tourists visiting the city and calls at Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry & Technology, Noritake Garden, Nagoya Castle, the Tokugawa Art Museum (and Tokugawa-en), the Futaba Museum, Nagoya City Archives, Nagoya TV Tower in Sakae, Hirokoji-Sakae and Hirokoji-Fushimi in the Fushimi financial district, before returning to Nagoya Station via Nagoya Castle, Noritake Garden and the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry & Technology.
Nagoya City Buses also connect with many stations on the Nagoya subway, running out to suburbs not served by the subway.

The 幹名駅2 bus runs from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal to Noseki Station (野跡駅) on the Aonami Line and Tokaibashi (東海橋).
基幹2 buses run to Itaka-shako (猪高車庫) from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal and from Sakae Bus Terminal at Oasis 21 to Hikiyama (引山) and Shikenya (四軒家). For the Tokugawa Art Museum (and Tokugawa-en) get off at the Tokugawaen Shindeki stop (徳川園新出来).
The 名駅13 bus runs to Noritake Garden from bus stop 6 at Nagoya Station. The bus runs between Nagoya Station and Nakagiricho (中切町) north of the center near the Shonai River.
The 名駅14 bus runs to Nagoya City Hall, Nagoya Castle and Ozone Station. For Nagoya Castle get off at the Meijo Byoin stop (名城病院).
The 名駅15 bus runs from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal to Jyoshin-cho (浄心町), Kurokawa (黒川), Ozone Station, Nagoya Dome and Chayagasaka (茶屋ケ坂) on the Meijo Line.
The 名駅16 bus runs in a loop from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal to Hirokoji-Fushimi (広小路伏見) in the Fushimi district for Nagoya City Science Museum, then Sakae (栄) and back to Yanagibashi (柳橋) and Nagoya Station.
The 名駅17 runs from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal to Fukiage Station (地下鉄吹上) on the Sakura-dori Line and Nagoya University (名古屋大学).
The 名駅18 runs from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal to Tsurumai Park (鶴舞公園前) and Jingu-mae Station (名鉄神宮前) on the Meitetsu Line. This bus also goes to Osu Kannon Temple in the shopping area of Osu Kannon; get off at Nishi-Osu (西大須). For Atsuta Jingu Shrine get off at Jingu-mae.
栄14 buses run to Kamiida (上飯田) on the Kamiiida Line.
栄26 buses run to Nagoya City Museum (名古屋市博物館) and Sakurayama Station on the Sakura-dori Line.
中巡回 is a loop bus from Sakae Bus Terminal to Kanayama Station on the Meijo Line and Tsurumai Line of the Nagoya subway as well as JR and Meitetsu Lines.
金山11 buses run from Kanayama Station on the Meijo and Meiko Lines of the Nagoya subway as well as JR and Meitetsu Lines to Ikeshita Station on the Higashiyama Line.
金山14, 金山15 and 金山16 from Kanayama Station to Paloma Mizuho Stadium (one of the home stadiums of J.League team Nagoya Grampus.
金山21 from Kanayama Station to Takabata Station.
八事11 from Nagoya University to Shimada Jutaku.
植田11 from Ueda Station on the Tsurumai Line to Naruko Kita Station on the Sakura-dori line.
原11 from Hara Station on the Tsurumai Line to Tokushige and the Hills Walk shopping mall on the Sakura-dori line.

Timetables & Fares
In general, Nagoya City Buses run from around 6 am to 9 pm or 10 pm with slightly reduced services on weekends and national holidays.
A single fare on Nagoya City Buses is 210 yen for adults and 100 yen for children. The Weekend Eco Ticket (ドニチエコきっぷ; 600 yen; which can be purchased on weekends, national holidays and the 8th day of every month) and the manaca IC card are also both valid on Nagoya buses.
A Me~guru One-Day Pass costs 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children and offers reductions at various restaurants in town and on the classic Nagoya sweet - uiro at the Osu-Uiro Esca Shop at Nagoya Station.

Using Nagoya City Buses
Enter Nagoya City Buses through the door at the front of the bus and pay in coins, swipe your manaca or other IC Card or show the date on your Weekend Eco Ticket.
Exit through the rear door when you alight at your bus stop. Press one of the stop buttons before the stop you wish to get off the bus.
Key Route No. 2 Buses (基幹2) are boarded from the rear. Pay the fare when leaving the bus from the front door next to the driver.

Meitetsu Buses
Red and white Meitetsu Buses operate in the wider areas of Aichi Prefecture usually operating from Meitetsu railway stations.
Enter Meitetsu Buses from the side door and swipe your IC card or if you are paying in cash take a boarding ticket. Exit from the front door and swipe your IC Card on exit or pay in cash. A machine for changing 1,000 yen notes is available next to the driver.
Fares vary with distance with the minimum fare 210 yen. In Okazaki a one day bus pass (One Day Free Okazaki; 1DAYフリー岡崎＞) is available for 800 yen.
The fares for routes covered by Meitetsu trains or buses is usually the same. Thus it costs 670 yen from Akaike Station to Toyota Station by Meitetsu bus or train.

Yutorito Buses
The Yutorito Line or officially the Guideway Bus Shidami Line, in the north-east of Nagoya, is a guided bus route running on a 6.5km elevated track in downtown Nagoya later becoming a normal bus in the suburbs from Obata Ryokuchi Koen onwards.
The line is a joint operation between Nagoya Guideway Bus, which operates the viaduct and stations and Nagoya Municipal Buses which operates the vehicles.
