Vousêtes fan de l'universde Harry Potter ?Ça tombe bien ! À l'occasion de la sortie en salle du deuxièmevolet des "Animaux Fantastiques" intitulé "LesAnimaux fantastiques : Les Crimes de Grindelwald",deux cafés éphémères basés sur l'univers de J. K. Rowling ontouvert leur portes au Japon. Basés respectivement à Hakata(préfecturede Fukuoka) et à Shinjuku (Tokyo), les deux cafés souffleront unbrin de magie sur l'archipel jusqu'au 31 janvier 2019 !
Magic on the plate
Named "Wizarding World Cafe", the two cafes opened their doors on November 9th and will be open for a limited period of two and a half months.
Based on J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter universe, these two cafes are already delighting fans of the franchise.
With statues of Harry Potter and Newt Scamander at the entrance, silhouettes of the characters from the second part of the "Fantastic Beasts", and posters from the Ministry of Magic on the walls, visitors are immersed in the Wizarding World as soon as they step into the cafe. There's a French theme for the cafe area, since the plot of the "Crimes of Grindelwald" movie takes place in Paris.

Dining in the cafe area
As with all good theme cafes, you can also enjoy the Wizarding World on your plate, with cute themed food and drinks.
On the menu? Curry rice with baby niffler sauce, Harry Potter cheese hamburg and Dumbledore profiteroles will surely delight the eyes and tastebuds of fans! It's a menu that is obviously accompanied by a variety of different magical drinks: choose whichever you like, or try one that matches your Hogwarts house: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff.
Paradise for Potterheads
While the cafe alone is enough to attract aspiring wizards, the gift shop of goodies is also a huge draw.
The cafes are separated into 3 distinct areas: the cafe room, the screening room (which plays scenes from the films and can be booked for groups), and the merchandise shop. The shop is accessible to all fans of the saga, whether they are dining in the cafe or not.
The shop is filled with exclusive themed products: leather goods and clothing in the colors of Hogwarts houses, stationery, stuffed toys of the creatures from "Fantastic Beasts"... there's something for everyone!
Good to know
Although the shop can be visited by everyone, access to the cafe and the screening room is limited. To avoid disappointment, here are some tips to help ensure your place in the Wizarding World.
- Access to the cafe:
Access to the cafe is on a first come, first served basis. The Shinjuku branch opens at 11:00 and Hakata branch at 10:00, and we recommend that you come well in advance to be sure to get a place. The cafes can only accommodate an average of 18-20 people, and allow 90 minutes for a lunch sitting. So expect to have to wait several hours if you plan to go in the middle of the afternoon.
- Access to the screening room:
Popular with fans of the saga, the screening room can only be used by reservation. The deposit is 2,500 yen ($22) and non refundable; it includes access to the room and a choice of dish + drink from a special set menu.
