Der JR Kansai WIDE Area Pass bietet unbegrenzten Zugang zu allen JR Zügen in der weitläufigen Region Kansai (siehe Gültigkeit), bis nach Okayama und den Nachbarstädten im Chugoku an 5 aufeinander folgenden Tagen.

Ab Kyoto oder Osaka können sie die ganze Region besuchen, vom japanischen Meer auf der einen Seite bis zum Pazifik auf der anderen. Eine ideale Gelegenheit für einen Besuch in den Städten des Kinosaki-onsen oder Toyooka, Himeji, Kurashiki oder auch Tsuruga oder die Region von Kumano.

Der Pass ist für Kinder unter 6 Jahren kostenlos und Kinder zwischen 6 - 11 jahren reisen zum halben Preis.

Hinweis: Ab dem 1. Dezember 2025 wird der Abschnitt der San'in-Hauptlinie zwischen den Bahnhöfen Tottori und Yura zum aktuellen kostenlosen Reisegebiet hinzugefügt.

    How to use your KANSAI Wide Area Pass

    After purchase, receive your e-voucher by email and exchange it at the station for a physical ticket.
    How to use your KANSAI Wide Area Pass

    In order to take the trains, you can buy the KANSAI Area Pass on our website. You will receive an e-voucher to your email address, which has to be exchange to receive the physical train ticket. The exchange can be done at a JR Ticket counter at one of the locations below.

    Remember: the pass is a lot cheaper than buying single tickets.

    Reception and Exchange process

    After your purchase on our website, we will send you an e-voucher to your email address within 5 business days of your order. If you want to receive it earlier, please contact us.

    The e-voucher can not be used directly to take trains in Japan. You need to exchange the e-voucher to receive a physical ticket. With this ticket you can ride the trains. The exchange can be done at a JR Ticket Office in a train station within the usage area (see list below). Keep the e-voucher on your mobile device or print it to show it at the exchange office. You will also need to show your passport during the exchange. Please always carry your passport when using the pass, as station and train staff may ask to check it.
    The e-voucher has to be exchanged within 3 months (90 days) after reception.

    Where can I exchange the KANSAI Wide Area Pass?

    Here is a list of all exchange offices:

    • Kyoto Station, JR WEST (central exit), Ticket Office, daily from 6:30 am to 9 pm
    • Shin-Osaka Station JR WEST (East exit), Ticket Office, daily from 6:30 am to 10 pm
    • Osaka Station, JR WEST Ticket Office (East exit), daily from 6:30 am to 10 pm
    • Kansai Airport Station, Ticket Office, daily from 5:30 am to 11 pm
    • Sannomiya Station (Kobe), central exit, Ticket Office, daily from 6 am to 10pm
    • Nara Station, Ticket Office, daily from 8 am to 10 pm
    • Wakayama station, Ticket Office, daily from 6 am to 9 pm

    Who can use the KANSAI Wide Area Pass?

    Tourists or Business travelers who have a Temporary Visitor entry status can use this pass.

    Japanese passport holders and foreigners living in Japan can’t use this pass.

    How do I modify or cancel my KANSAI Wide Area Pass?

    Please contact us with your order number within one year of issuance to receive an 85% refund.
    How do I modify or cancel my KANSAI Wide Area Pass?

    Please contact us with your order number within one year of issuance. The cancellation fee is 15%. It can be waived in case of a new voucher purchase.

    Modification of your usage date

    To change the length of use of your KANSAI Area Pass or if you wish to buy another regional pass instead, please contact our Customer Support. They will help you to cancel your pass and to buy a new voucher. In the case of a new purchase, there is no cancellation fee.

    Cancellation Conditions

    If you wish to cancel within one year from the issue date, you will receive a refund with a cancellation fee of 15% for the unused voucher.

    The voucher can only be refunded within one year of the issue date. A refund is NOT possible if we are contacted more than one year from the issue date.

    Only a voucher, which has never been exchanged in Japan can be refunded. A refund is NOT accepted by Japan Experience for a redeemed ticket, even if not used to take a train. In exceptional cases, the JR West ticket office where you exchanged the voucher maybe able to grant a refund for a redeemed ticket.

    Takamatsu, a peaceful retreat

    Located on the island of Shikoku, facing the Seto Inland Sea, Takamatsu is a port city known for its calm atmosphere and strong cultural identity. It is home to Ritsurin Garden, an Edo period landscape garden featuring ponds, carefully arranged pavilions, and open views toward Mount Shiun.

    Famous for its seven public baths fed by natural hot spring waters, the town invites visitors to stroll from one bathhouse to another wearing a yukata, along a willow lined canal bordered by traditional ryokan. 

    The bathing experience is at the heart of the town’s identity, rooted in centuries old traditions where time slows down and guests can fully enjoy the restorative qualities of the onsen in a preserved and harmonious setting.
