Tsukuba Station is the terminus of the Tsukuba Express (TX) that runs between Akihabara and Tsukuba (Science City) in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Around the Station
Other Tsukuba attractions within easy walking distance of the station include the Tsukuba Cultural Center Ars, which houses the Tsukuba Museum of Art and the Municipal Library. Here you can find books in English and other languages. The Tsukuba Center Building contains the Nova Hall, the Tsukuba Innovation Plaza and the Aiaimall. Creo Square and BiVi Tsukuba are both nearby shopping malls.

Buses
Local buses are operated by Kanto Tetsudo (Kantetsu) and run to Tsuchiura Station in Tsuchiura, Mt. Tsukuba, Wellness Park, Hitachi-no-Ushiku Station, Ushiku Station, Kenkyugakuen Station, Sakura Newtown, Tenchnopark-oho, Tsukuba University Hospital, Driving License Center, Shimotsuma Station, Ishige Station, Aeon Mall Tsukuba, Kenchikukenkyujo, Space Center (Uchu Senta-) and Daigaku Nishi. North of the station building is the large Chuo Park area. Just across the road is an interestingly designed koban (police box). Farther north is the Tsukuba Expo Center and beyond that Matsumi Park.
Hotels
Nearby hotels include the Okura Frontier Hotel Tsukuba, the premier hotel in the downtown area of town. The hotel consists of the main building and an annex, which also hosts the hotel’s pool, which is open to visitors and requires an extra charge for guests. The Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tsukuba is also very close to the station. A 15-20 minute walk east from the station past Sakurakotsu Park with its 1970's highway bus and steam locomotive is the budget business hotel, Hotel Route Tsukuba. Inside the Station
Descending into the station there are various stores in the spacious concourse including a convenience store, a shop selling local products as souvenirs and a Starbucks cafe. Coin lockers are available near the ticket gates to the platforms on your left.
