Yamashina Station Kyoto 山科駅 京都

Platforms at JR Yamashina Station, Kyoto

There are three stations in close proximity in Yamashina in the north east of Kyoto. These are:

- JR Yamashina Station

- Tozai Line Yamashina Station on the Kyoto subway network

- Keihan Yamashina Station (京阪山科).

JR Yamashina Station is on the JR Kyoto Line for Kyoto Station and Osaka Station. It is just one stop from Kyoto Station. The Haruka which goes from Kyoto to Kansai International Airport (KIX) also runs on the JR Kyoto Line.

There are also trains from JR Yamashina Station running on the so-called Biwako Line, part of the Tokaido Main Line from Kyoto Station via Otsu, Omi-Hachiman, Hikone and Maibara to Nagahama in Shiga Prefecture.

Trains also run from JR Yamashina Station on the Kosei Line along the western edge of Lake Biwa to Omi-Shiotsu, where it joins with the Hokuriku Line to Tsuruga on the Sea of Japan Coast. Stops on the Kosei Line include Otsukyo, Ono, Shiga, Omi-Maiko, Omi-Imazu and Makino.

Yamashina Subway Station

Yamashina is a stop on the Tozai Line of Kyoto subway which runs from Uzumasa Tenjingawa Station via Nijo Station in the west to Rokujizo Station in the south east of Kyoto.

Keihan Yamashina Station

Keihan Yamashina Station is on the Keishin Line from Misasagi Station on the Tozai Line in Kyoto and Biwako-Hamaotsu Station in Otsu. Most Keishin Line trains from Biwako-Hamaotsu Station run through to Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station or Uzumasa Tenjingawa Station on the Tozai Line.
