1. Yurari Onsen

Yurari is a modern public onsen near charming Lake Kawaguchi. With 10 separate indoor and outdoor pools for men and women, it offers breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. Soak in the hot tubs while admiring the sacred mountain on the horizon. Some baths can even be made private for added privacy. In addition to the baths, Yurari offers rest areas, a sauna, stores and restaurants for a full day of relaxation.

Admission from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. costs 1,400 yen on weekdays and 1,700 yen on weekends and public holidays. Past 7 p.m. there is a 200 yen discount. Yurari can be reached in 25 minutes by bus from Kawaguchiko station.

2. Hotel Mifujien

Hotel Mifujien boasts a prime location on the shores of magnificent Lake Kawaguchi, with baths overlooking Mount Fuji. Despite its old-fashioned decor, it will appeal to lovers of beautiful panoramas, who can enjoy the exceptional view while relaxing in the hot springs.

The separate male/female baths are open daily to outside visitors from 1pm to 8pm for the sum of 1,200 yen. The hotel is easily accessible, just a 7-minute bus ride from Kawaguchiko station.

3. Benifuji no Yu

11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays/11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends

Open daily from 10am to 9pm, admission costs just 900 yen for adults, 700 yen for middle schoolers, and 350 yen for elementary students. This is a very affordable price for a day of relaxation, including baths, sauna and restaurant. Benifuji no Yu is easy to get to, with direct buses from Fujisan station stopping right in front. On the downside, tattooed guests are not accepted.

4. Hotel Green Plaza Hakone
