Limited Express in Japan 

  • A new Limited Express services connects Shinjuku Station and Kawaguchiko and the Mt Fuji area, twice a day : the new Fuji Excursion train. It is covered by the Japan Rail Pass with an additional fee ( 1140 yens).
  • A new limited express train started in December 2017 between Shinjuku and Matsumoto : the Limited Express Azusa. The latest technology was used to handle the many curves and then improve the comfort.
  • The private company Seibu introduce the Limited Express La View between Ikebukuro Station in Tokyo and Seibu Chichibu Station in Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo

SHINKANSEN

  • The Nozomi on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line will connect Tokyo to Shin Osaka in 2h27 instead of 2h30.
  • Supreme « Gran class » will be introduced on the Joetsu Shinkansen Line. 
  • Thanks to higher speed in the Seikan tunnel, the Hayabusa on the Hokkaido Shinkansen Line will connect Tokyo to Shin Hakodate in 3h48 instead of 4h02
