A City that Remembers and Inspires
Step into Nagasaki, a city that bears one of the world’s most powerful lessons about peace. The Peace Maker’s Journey is more than a guided tour — it’s a reflective walk through history, empathy, and hope.
Led by local youth who act as your “buddies,” the experience takes you through the Atomic Bomb Hypocenter Park and Peace Park, weaving together stories of the city’s pre-war daily life, the devastation that followed the atomic bombing, and Nagasaki’s ongoing mission as a beacon of peace.
Through their voices and perspectives, you’ll encounter not only the historical facts but also the human emotions, memories, and resilience that define this city today.
A Transformative Encounter with the Meaning of Peace
What makes this journey truly meaningful is the dialogue it opens. Rather than simply learning about history, participants are invited to feel its reality — to understand what happens when nuclear weapons are used, and to reflect on how such tragedies can be prevented in the future. Walking side by side with your local buddy, you’ll engage in heartfelt conversations about conflict, reconciliation, and the role each of us can play in shaping a more peaceful world.
This is not a passive tour, but a transformative encounter — one that challenges assumptions, awakens empathy, and inspires personal responsibility. The Peace Maker’s Journey is a chance to see Nagasaki not just as a place that suffered, but as a community that continues to act — a reminder that peace is not the absence of war, but the courage to build understanding, one step and one conversation at a time.
