We recommend dedicating the morning to exploring Lake Tazawa, known for its golden Tatsuko statue and panoramic views, then taking the train to Kakunodate for the afternoon. In Kakunodate, you can discover the historic samurai districts with their ancient residences and the cherry tree-lined riverbanks (particularly beautiful in spring and autumn).
