The Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen line, launched in September 2022, connects Hakata to Nagasaki via Isahaya under the service name 'Kamome'. The name 'Kamome', which means 'seagull' in Japanese, is a tribute to the express trains that historically connected Fukuoka (Hakata) and Nagasaki. These trains were already renowned for their comfort and speed, and the new Shinkansen continues this tradition, offering a modern and efficient journey. Isahaya serves as an important junction for travelers continuing to local destinations via conventional lines.
