Pocket wifi: unlimited data plan for Japan

The rental price depends on the duration. You can rent your pocket WiFi from 5 days up to 50 days. There is a flat price increase per day, meaning that the difference of price between 5 and 10 days is the same as the difference between 10 and 15 days. For the most cost effective usage, we recommend to share the portable wifi among several devices. Another advantage is the ease of use: no installation necessary.

You can order your pocket directly from this page and choose delivery to your airport of arrival or to your hotel. After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation email explaining the next steps, and the pick up location for your pocket WiFi. When your rental period ends, you must return your pocket wifi before the end of your stay in Japan. You can use the included free return envelope to drop it off at any post box across Japan.

The Pocket Wifi is cancellable and refundable up to one week before the start of rental. Past this date, the Pocket Wifi is no longer refundable. There is a 15% cancellation fee.

Depending on your usage and the service you desire, other options are available for you to access Internet. A good alternative is to order a SIM card or an eSIM for Japan. You can insert this SIM in your phone or other mobile device and have access to the Internet just as you would have in your own country. Alternatively, you can also buy an eSIM card (check your phone for compatibility), so there is no need to insert a physical card.

There are also numerous free wifi spots throughout Japan. However, we do not recommend this method. It will require you to spent time often to navigate the sign in procedure. Also, in large open spaces like train stations or between large buildings, the coverage in your area might be very spotty, slow or inconsistent.

Each method has its own advantage, depending on the number of people in your group, and the time you will stay in, your usage and your needs in terms of data.

Choosing airport delivery allows for internet access soon after arriving in Japan. If you require your pocket Wi-Fi before 3PM, it is better to select airport pickup for convenient and immediate access.

Hotel delivery may be more secure and dependable as the package will be received and kept by hotel reception, then given to you upon check-in. Hotel delivery typically falls between 9AM and 12PM on your rental start date, but with check-in usually only starting from 3PM.

If you are staying at one of accommodation homes or an AirBnB, we suggest airport delivery.

Please pick up your Pocket Wifi at one of the JAL ABC counters below.

Narita International Airport Terminal 1:

Arrival floor (1F) JAL ABC Counter North Wing : 6:30~1 hour after the last flight

Narita International Airport Terminal 2:

Arrival floor (1F) JAL ABC Counter : ****6:30~1 hour after the last flight

Haneda Airport Terminal 3:

Arrival floor (2F) JAL ABC Counter : ****4:00~01:00

If you'll arrive at Haneda Airport Terminal 2, it's better to choose hotel pick-up instead, as the Terminal 3 pick-up counter is far away.

Kansai International Airport Terminal 1 :

International Arrivals Floor (1F) JAL ABC Counter : 7:00～22:30

Please mind the closing time of the counter. After the landing time of your flight, you usually have to count about 1 hour for immigration and to pick up your luggage, before you can go to the counter. If the airport counter is closed at your time of arrival, please choose hotel delivery instead.

We will inform you of the exact pick up counter location by email latest 1-2 days before the rental start date.

• The device battery should last for at least 8 hours after a full charge

• We recommend to set the device to auto-sleep mode: on. If you set the pocket Wi-Fi to high-performance mode, the battery will run out more quickly, as it will prioritize connection speed and permanent availability.

• We also recommend that you switch off the device before recharging it after use. If you charge the device while it is connected to Wi-Fi or switched on, the device may automatically control the charging settings to protect the battery. Once charged, turn your pocket wifi off until you plan to use it again.
