In the spring of 2018, the hotel chain Hoshino Resorts opened two hotels of new kind. The hotel OMO5 in the district of Otsuka in Tokyo and OMO7 in Asahikawa on the island of Hokkaido allow their customers to integrate into local life by offering them several guided tours.
From the small cheap hotel to the 5 star, the hotels until now only offered more or less comfortable rooms in which to sleep. Omo hotels have created a new concept: to make their customers enjoy the life of the neighborhood.
In addition to their rooms with modern comfort and design and their trendy café-restaurants, the real plus of these establishments is the possibility they offer to discover the neighborhood with their guides. For a minimal fee, their staff will show you around the area on foot and take you on a tour of local restaurants or even sake bars. A godsend for those who don't dare to venture out on their own and a great way to get in touch with the local population.

OMO5 Otsuka, Tokyo
Opened in May 2018, OMO5 is located just a 1-minute walk from Otsuka Station, not far from the Ikebukuro area and the Toden Arakawa tram line. This bright hotel, whose lobby is intended as a living room, offers single rooms equipped for people with reduced mobility and others that can accommodate up to 3 people. Washing machines and dryers are available to guests.
Many tours (at meager prices), especially for gourmets, are offered, and the hotel informs its customers of the various local events.

OMO7, Asahikawa, Hokkaido
Asahikawa is a city located in the center of the northern island of Hokkaido and surrounded by nature. The OMO7 Hotel is close to the famous Asahikawa Zoological Park and the tourist spots of Furano and Biei. Free shuttles (upon reservation) link the hotel to the zoo and the Kamui Ski Links ski resort in winter.
There is something for everyone, from luxurious suites to Japanese rooms with tatami to rooms for four people. Like Otsuka's OMO5, OMO7 offers guided tours and gourmet evenings at local restaurants.
