Otsuki Station is a crucial railway junction, serving as a transfer point between the JR Chuo Line and the Fujikyuko Line, which leads to Lake Kawaguchiko and the Mount Fuji area. On the journey from Otsuki to Tokyo, the JR Chuo Line winds through mountainous landscapes before descending into the vast Tokyo plain. A notable fact is that this line was one of the first in Japan to be electrified, as early as 1904 on certain sections, marking an important step in the history of Japanese transport. The section between Otsuki and Hachioji offers a visual transition from rural to urban, a precursor to the vibrancy of the capital.
