The "Zenkoji Valley" is not a geographical feature located along the route between Nagano and Shiojiri. Zenkoji Temple is located within Nagano city itself. When the train heads south from Nagano (towards Shiojiri/Matsumoto), sitting on the right side may offer potential views of the foothills of the Northern Japanese Alps.
