The Limited Express Azusa, connecting Tokyo to Matsumoto, takes its name from the picturesque Azusa River that winds through Nagano Prefecture. Traveling along the Chuo Line, especially after Kofu, passengers can observe a distinct change in scenery, transitioning from urban to mountainous landscapes. On a clear day, it is possible to catch sight of the majestic peaks of the Southern Alps (Minami Alps) and appreciate the natural beauty of the region the train traverses to reach Matsumoto, known for its historic castle and soba noodles.
