Neighborhoods Umekoji


To the west of the central JR station, between the Nishi-Honganji temple and the Toji temple, which are both listed as Unesco World Heritage sites, can be found the second biggest park in the city, Umekoji, famous for its plum trees.
Life in this working-class district essentially revolves around the little-known Dai-Ichijo market, Kyoto’s version of Tsukiji.


Easy and quick access to visit the south of the city, from the Toji temple to the Fushimi Inari shrine in addition to the west of the city, Arashiyama.


A 30-minute bus journey will take you into the city centre.


Bus and train service to reach other tourist districts in Kyoto.
