This 4-day Tokyo itinerary blends iconic neighborhoods, cultural highlights, and quintessential Japanese experiences. You’ll explore areas like Harajuku, Shibuya, and Shinjuku, followed by a full sightseeing loop through Ginza, Tsukiji, Hama-rikyu and Asakusa. The final day is flexible, allowing you to dive into lesser-known districts or choose from various optional activities such as museums, theme parks, or themed tours according to your taste!

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by an airport assistant. They will provide you with the essential documents for your stay (travel guidebook, train tickets, IC Card, and Hakone Pass) before accompanying you to your hotel for the night. The rest of the day is yours!
Your first full day in Tokyo: we recommend visiting the must-see sites. Meiji Jingu Shrine, Sensoji Temple, Hamarikyu Garden, Shinjuku's intimate izakaya—traditional bars where you can sample classic Japanese bar snacks and drinks—explore the capital at your own pace!
Traditional garden or modern architecture? Ancient temple or shopping in Ginza? You organize your day as you wish! Of course, you’ll find all our suggestions and favorite spots in your travel guidebook. For the rest, we trust you: Tokyo’s vibrant energy will satisfy your curiosity!
For your last day in Tokyo, why not go shopping? Luxury in Ginza, fashion shopping in Shinjuku, alternative fashion in Harajuku—the capital is full of shops of every kind! Don’t forget to try local culinary specialties before you leave. The underground levels of train stations are full of delicious food souvenirs!
This day takes you from Tokyo to the scenic hot-spring region of Hakone. After sending your luggage ahead to Kyoto, you’ll travel light to Hakone, where you can enjoy views of Lake Ashi, Mount Fuji and the volcanic valley of Owakudani. You’ll end the day with a traditional Japanese dinner and a relaxing night in a ryokan.

Take the Shinkansen (Japan’s high-speed train) to Hakone, a hot spring town located at the foot of Mount Fuji. With your Hakone Free Pass, explore the onsen region, visit the city’s museums, and soak up the breathtaking scenery of Hakone National Park. In the evening, stay in a traditional ryokan, enjoy a kaiseki dinner, and sleep on futons in a tatami room.
This itinerary takes you from Hakone to the former imperial capital of Kyoto, where you’ll spend three full days exploring iconic temples, historic districts, bamboo forests, and traditional markets.
You’ll visit landmarks such as Kiyomizu-dera, the Golden and Silver Pavilions, the Philosopher’s Path, Nijo Castle, and Arashiyama, with the option to join guided walks or cultural activities ranging from tea ceremonies to nature hikes.
A day trip to Nara lets you discover its ancient temples and friendly free-roaming deer before concluding your journey with a transfer to Kansai International Airport.

The Shinkansen will take you to Kyoto. While the former capital is famous for its temples and shrines such as Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera, we recommend strolling through its traditional streets, hidden gardens, and neighborhood restaurants. You’ll find our favorite hidden gems are waiting for you in your guidebook.
To visit popular landmarks such as the Golden and Silver Pavilions, we suggest getting up early to beat the crowds. A morning stroll along the Kamo River followed by a break in a traditional tea house to enjoy matcha is also a wonderful way to start the day. Of course, you are free to plan the day as you like!
Why not explore the western part of the city? With its bamboo grove, Arashiyama is a must-see when visiting Kyoto. Late in the morning, we recommend Nishiki Market to enjoy fresh seafood and local specialties in a vibrant and bustling atmosphere.
How about a getaway to Nara? With your IC Card, explore the surroundings of the former capital. Famous for its freely roaming deer and ancient wooden temples, Nara makes for a wonderful day trip.
