Noto Peninsula, north of Kanazawa

Noto in the Ainu language means "peninsula". A strip of land about 150 km long that juts out into the Sea of Japan from northern Kanazawa, the Noto Peninsula is rich in raw, untamed nature. From sandy beaches to rugged rocky coastlines, you would probably not be shocked to see an old samurai dressed in black and white, meditating on his past while looking out to sea.

A guided tour of the Japanese countryside

Noto is also home to rustic villages, sanctuaries tucked away in the countryside, terraced rice fields and fishing spots. Accompanied by your guide, who is as familiar with the area as the back of his hand, let yourself be driven along the small roads of the peninsula, zigzagging between the small cultivated plots, greeting the farmers, and stopping in the best places to breathe the forest air or chat a little with the villagers. Enjoy the countryside (which for Miyazaki Hayao fans will remind you of the setting of "My Neighbour Totoro"), for a perfect day of Japanese escapism. 

A flexible, personalized guided tour

Your guide will meet you at your accommodation to start the guided tour, which will last about 8 hours. You will also have lunch with your guide in a restaurant along the way, recommended by them. 

As part of our discovery days, your guide will prepare the best itinerary for you, although we also offer the possibility of contacting your guide beforehand if you have specific requests (dietary restrictions, parts of the program you would like to discuss, etc.).
