How can I use this pass?

Please insert your pass into the ticket slot of the automatic ticket gate at the boarding station. When the gate opens, proceed and remember to take out your pass as it comes out.You will need to do the same at the drop-off station. Your pass will be returned to you, so don't forget to take it out.

What does 2 or 3 non-consecutive days mean?

You can choose your 2 or 3 days until the expiration date.The dates of use do not have to be consecutive.For example, in the case of a 3 days pass, if your validity period is from 2025/01/01 to 2025/01/31.You can use three consecutive days like 01/12,13,14 or non-consecutive days like 01/12,15,20.

If I lose my pass, will I get it back?

The Pass is not linked to your personal information, so it will not be returned to you.Japan Experience will not reissue the voucher for the lost pass.

If I want to travel more than 3 days, what can I do?

If you are traveling for more than 3 days, you may purchase more than one pass. You can purchase up to 5 at a time.

How can I go to Koyasan with the Kansai Railway Pass?

Take the Express train to Gokurakubashi Station: From Osaka Abenobashi Station or Namba Station, board the Limited Express train, KOYA bound for Gokurakubashi Station. This train should be covered by the Kansai Railway Pass.To take limited express KOYA you need to buy the extra tickets at the station or official website of Nankai.（790yen )Arrive at Gokurakubashi Station: Upon arrival at Gokurakubashi Station, there should be no need to purchase an additional ticket if the Kansai Railway Pass covers the journey.Take the Nankai Koya Line Cable Car: From Gokurakubashi Station, you'll need to transfer to the Nankai Koya Line Cable Car, which will take you up the mountain to Koyasan Station.

Can I go to Expo 2025 with this pass?

To access the EXPO 2025 venue, you can take Osaka Metro Chuo line line to the 夢州/Yumeshima station (the closest station to the site) with this pass. The metro between Yumeshima and Cosmosquare is not included. You need to pay separately by cash (330 jpy)

Where can I use my Kansai Railway Pass?

The Kansai Railway Pass can be used on most railway lines in Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe, Koyasan and Himeji, including to and from Kansai Airport.

With this pass, you'll have access to around 80% of the whole railway transportation network in the Kyoto, Osaka and Nara region.

This pass CANNOT be used on JR lines, the Shinkansen or on any buses.

Terms of use

The child pass is for children aged 6-11 years old. Children aged 12 and above will need an adult pass. Children under 6 years old do not require a pass, and can travel for free if accompanied by an adult pass holder.

The Kansai Railway Pass is undated, and once used for the first time the pass will be valid for 2 or 3 non-consecutive days (depending on the pass you purchased). Each time the pass is used for the first time on a day, that day is counted as USED (days are counted by date, not 24 hour periods).

Once a pass is used up, it cannot be reloaded. So if you want to use it for more than three days, you must purchase two or more passes and use them consecutively. You can buy up to 3 passes for one person.

This pass cannot be used on JR lines. The JR Kansai Area Pass or the JR Kansai Wide Area Pass would be more appropriate, but note that JR lines do not form the majority of the rail lines in this region.

On Nankai and Kintetsu limited express trains and Keihan premium cars, a surcharge must be paid on the train.

Conditions of purchase / cancellation

Eligibility

- A 90-day short-term tourist visa is required

- Japanese residents and foreigners who have long term stay Japanese visa are NOT eligible to purchase this pass

To use the voucher, you must present your passport containing a valid short-term tourist visa

Cancellation

- The voucher is refundable before the voucher expiry date, providing it has not been exchanged. We will refund 85% of the purchase price.

- Current voucher validity: April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026

- Paper ticket expiry date: May 31, 2026

The Kansai Railway Pass offers the bearer various reductions on admission to various museums in the Kansai area as well as other perks.

There are small reductions (around 100 yen) on entry to such places as Osaka Castle, Osaka Science Museum, Spaworld, the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka Prefectural Flower Garden, Itsuo Art Museum, Osaka Museum of History, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel, Tsutenkaku Tower, Japan Folk Art Museum, Kishiwada Danjiri Kaikan, The Entrepreneurial Museum of Challenge and Innovation and the Yuki Museum of Art.

There are also reductions on travel on the Captain Line ferry between USJ and Osaka Aquarium, the Tombori River Cruise, the Naniwa Tanken Cruise with a Rakugo Performer (complimentary soft drink).
