Honganji 2, originally built in the early 20th century, has been completely renovated and beautifully appointed by a renowned designer known for creating luxury hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto.
The ground floor features a bright, open space and a modern kitchenette next to a traditional Japanese tatami room, allowing you to enjoy views of the small private Japanese garden (tsubo-niwa).
On the second floor, you’ll find a tranquil sleeping environment in one of two Japanese-style rooms, one of which is equipped with Kyoto tatami mats, providing rejuvenation after a busy day of sightseeing.
One room offers two single beds with Western-style bedding, while the master bedroom features a queen-size bed, also with Western-style bedding. A bathroom with hinoki wood paneling completes the layout.

Gojo
This former district of ceramic artisans, with the slopes Gojo avenue and tiny alleys, still show traces of its past. Even if the fires in the kilns are no longer lit, there is still a remarkable amount of little shops, making this area the best place to hunt for and hope to find the teacup of your dreams.
