A remnant of an era long past, the Arakawa line is actually convenient for many locals in Tokyo, connecting with several subway lines. For Christmas, you can find a special vintage style train all dressed up for the holidays.
Thomas the Tank Engine Christmas train
Blink and you might miss this one-- this special train on the Keihan line, which has service from Kyoto to Osaka, is running only once and only for a short distance!
On the 23rd, this special Thomas the Tank Engine train will be decorated for the holidays and will give out sweets to participating children. It leaves from Kuzuha Station in the suburbs of Osaka at 4:25 pm and runs to Nakanoshima, in the middle of Osaka city, arriving a little after 5 pm.

The Hiroshima city street car system loves to get festive for any occasion, and Christmas is no exception. This time, some trains will be bedazzled with Christmas lights. Some trains will even have special events! They run from the 15th until Christmas Eve, so you have plenty of opportunities to come across these enthusiastic train cars.
