Nasu Animal Kingdom is the perfect place if you're tired of classic zoos. Here you can cuddle and feed the animals, attend various shows and even take a bath while admiring the largest rodents in the world lounging a few meters away!
Bring the whole family to say hello to the kingdom's 600 animals! Inside, many pets are gathered for the delight of children who can pet them. And once outside, you can enjoy the country air near the wild animals, admiring the different shows. After all these adventures, you can also relax in the onsen of the park.
To take full eyes
The animal park offers many shows , some of which are quite unusual. First, you will find the classic bird show, with a flight performance of eagles, falcons, owls and other birds. Then it will be the sea lions who will show you their sense of balance and their incredible juggling skills.
For more original performances, cats and dogs are in the spotlight. Your cat spends his time slumped on the bed and only gets up to eat? Show him what the cats of the Nasu Animal Kingdom can do to motivate him! Not really reputed to be docile as normal, it is without hesitation that cats pass through hoops and prove their agility in obstacle courses. Finally, New Zealand shepherds accompanied by their dogs offer an impressive spectacle. They manage a flock of sheep with the only tool a whistle that guides the dogs.
To interact with animals
You will rarely have the opportunity to be so close to wild animals ! Several areas are open and both visitors and animals circulate freely. Do you know the capybara, or cabiaï, also called large water pig? It is a large rodent 50-60 centimeters high for one meter long, semi-aquatic and very sociable which gets along perfectly with many other animal species. You can feed them and watch them bask in the hot springs where they warm up in winter. On one of the many hills, you can greet and feed the alpacas , these friendly llama-like animals covered in a thick layer of wool.

Head to the rainforest! Without fences or barriers, stroll among sloths, small monkeys, birds and insects. There is also a farm where children will love to ride horses, feed camels and even enter the kangaroo enclosure . Back in the building, spend some time with the cats, dogs, parrots , etc...
To relax in the countryside
Located almost 800 meters above sea level , the Nasu Animal Kingdom offers magnificent views of the Japanese countryside. You can also have lunch in one of the park's restaurants : an all-you-can-eat barbecue, a restaurant that offers dishes in the shape of animals with a view of the farm, an outdoor restaurant to enjoy an alpaca curry and other establishments to take a short break. Finally, buy a stuffed animal or other product derived from your favorite animal at the large souvenir store !
To access the park, free shuttles (in the shape of animals, of course) run once a day on weekdays and twice on weekends. You must book in advance (no later than 5 p.m. the day before your visit) on the site or by telephone (see practical information).
