The Fukuchiyama Line is a JR railway line between Osaka Station and Fukuchiyama in Kyoto Prefecture. The section between Osaka and Sasayamaguchi Station is also known as the JR Takarazuka Line (JR宝塚線).
The Fukuchiyama Line (Fukuchiyama-sen) is a 106.5km-long commuter railway line operated by JR West.
The Fukuchiyama Line runs from JR Osaka Station in Osaka through Hyogo Prefecture to the small, castle town of Fukuchiyama in northern Kyoto Prefecture.
Between Osaka Station and Sasayamaguchi Station the line is also known as the JR Takarazuka Line (JR宝塚線) as it passes through Takarazuka city.
Local, Rapid and Tambaji Rapid services run on the line.
Fukuchiyama Kyuko Fukuchiyama Line Stations
There are thirty two stations on the Fukuchiyama Line:
Osaka Station, Tsukamoto, Amagasaki, Tsukaguchi, Inadera, Itami, Kita-Itami, Kawanishi-Ikeda, Nakayamadera, Takarazuka, Namaze, Nishinomiyanajio, Takedao, Dojo, Sanda, Shin-Sanda, Hirono, Aino, Aimoto, Kusano, Furuichi, Minami-Yashiro, Sasayamaguchi, Tamba-Oyama, Shimotaki, Tanikawa, Kaibara, Iso, Kuroi, Ichijima, Tamba-Takeda, Fukuchiyama.
Fukuchiyama Line Connections
Osaka Station
Osaka Station City connects to the Osaka Loop Line, the JR Kyoto Line, the JR Kobe Line and the Midosuji Line of the the Osaka city subway network.
Amagasaki Station
Amagasaki Station connects with the Tokaido Main Line (JR Kobe Line for Sannomiya in Kobe) and the JR Tozai Line to Kyobashi Station. The quirky Skull Museum is located near Tachibana Station, one stop from Amagasaki on the JR Kobe Line (Tokaido Main Line).
Takarazuka Station
Takarazuka Station is convenient for the famous Takarazuka Revue, an all-female song and dance theater. Also in Takarazuka is the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum and the Seiko-den (Tessai Museum) in the grounds of Kiyoshikojin Seicho-ji Temple, which holds the art works of painter and calligrapher Tessai Tomioka (1836-1924). There are transfers here to Hankyu Takarazuka Station and the Hankyu Imazu Line to Nishinomiya and the Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Umeda Station.
Fukuchiyama Station
Fukuchiyama Station has transfers for the Sanin Main Line, all the way eventually to Tottori, Masuda and Shimonoseki and the Kyoto Tango Railway Miyafuku Line (operated by Willer) to Miyazu and then Amanohashidate.
Fukuchiyama is a pleasant town best known for Fukuchiyama Castle and a number of Edo Period buildings in the nearby Jokamachi district.
IC cards such as Suica, manaca, kitaca, Pasmo etc can all be used on the Fukuchiyama Line and the Japan Rail Pass is valid for this JR line.
