house Koyasu

A Typical Kyoto House.

Description

Under the protection of the deity of Koyasu Kannon Temple and with traditional Japanese architecture, Koyasu house is a typical merchant house from the beginning of the last century.

With a great façade onto the street, enter through a spacious hallway leading to typical Japanese tatami rooms separated by sliding doors. Slightly adapted by us, the living room now offers Western comfort with a large table and chairs. At the back of the house, the living room opens onto a small garden where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the area
Upstairs the two rooms are warm and bright, one with Western and one with Japanese beds (futon).

Ground floor: Compact kitchen, living room, Japanese tatami living room, small bathroom and toilet, Japanese Garden.
1st floor: Japanese tatami room with Japanese bedding (futon), Japanese tatami room with double bed

The house is located a few meters from the most famous walk in Kyoto, the Philosopher's Path.
Nearby are many small shops and also a large supermarket which is very convenient for those who want to dine at home. For others, a few steps along Imadegawa Street, the street lights up with many traditional and varied restaurants .
The bus stop is very close to the house for convenient access to other tourist areas of the city

Our opinion

A typical merchant house from the beginning of the last century located a few meters from the most famous walk in Kyoto, the Philosopher's Path. This house offers authentic Kyoto aesthetics for a stay with family or friends. There is nothing better than lying on the tatami floor, looking out over the small garden and getting that feeling of peace and quiet.
