5 places to celebrate Halloween in 2025 that aren't Shibuya

Shibuya may be the best known to place to celebrate Halloween in Tokyo, but it's far from the only one! Check out some of our favorite events for Halloween 2025 in Tokyo.
Halloween in Tokyo is a well-known celebration, especially out of Shibuya, where celebrants go out in costumes and enjoy the nightlife of one of the city's most bustling areas. But in recent years, the local government has done its best to taper off the crowds and rowdiness of the area on Halloween night. In general, the vibe of Halloween night in Shibuya may not be to everyone's liking, but Tokyo is still a great place to enjoy the spook-centric holiday!
Take a look at some other alternative locations within the Japanese capital for enjoying Halloween night!

The landmark amusement parks for the Tokyo area, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, host special events for Halloween, centered around their iconic franchises. Special parades, events, and attractions are featured during this time, and many seasonal, spooky-themed food options are on sale as well.
A great perk of coming during the Halloween season is that guests of all ages are welcome to visit the parks while wearing character costumes. Only costumes from Disney-owned franchises are allowed, but that is a fairly wide range of characters. There are a number of exceptions from this roster, however, such as Spider-Man from Marvel.*

Zerotokyo

For those wanting an exciting night out without needing to go through the maze of Shibuya streets, nightclub Zerotokyo in Shinjuku is hosting a Halloween event dubbed "Halloween Crazy Party Night." The big ticket act? Tokyo pop culture icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is hosting the event, along with a number of prominent DJs and other performers celebrating J-Pop and kawaii-centric techno.
Tickets are available at the door for 4,000 yen the night of. The event starts at 8 P.M. on October 31st and goes until 4:30 A.M. the next day.

Roppongi Hills Halloween

Roppongi Hills is hosting a Halloween event more targeted towards families with younger children. Here, children wearing their Halloween costumes parade on the grounds of the multi-facility mall every 30 minutes. Be sure to arrive early to register your child for the parade (registration opens at 10 A.M.).
Different restaurants at Roppongi Hills will offer specialty Halloween menu items. The area around Roppongi Hills is great for leisurely walking around, with amazing views of Tokyo Tower down the main avenue. Enjoy a nice fall day and evening in the area!
"Emo Night Tokyo" at Traffic, Nishi Azabu

For those whose musical tastes largely developed in the early-to-late 2000s, the nightclub Traffic in Nishi Azabu is looking to channel your nostalgia on Halloween night. The night will be filled with the sonic mayhem of pop punk emo music, such as My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy.
The lineup includes DJs, local bands, and cover bands. The event startsat 9 P.M. on October 31st and goes on until 4:30 A.M. the next morning. Entrance tickets for after 12 P.M. are 2,500 yen with an additional 800 yen for a drink ticket. Before midnight, the price goes down to 1,500 yen.
Sanrio Puroland Halloween Night

The iconic indoor amusement park is owned by Sanrio, whose iconic and adorable characters, such as Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Batsumaru, and PomPom Purin, are internationally recognized and beloved. The combination of cute and spooky makes for great fanfare, and this year, the theme for the season is wizards and witches!
You'll be able to buy exclusive merchandise and indulge in Halloween-themed treats and dishes at the park's food court! On Halloween day itself, the Tree of Wisdom Stage will host a unique illusion show performed by nationally recognized magician Youri and his assistant, Sumika. And of course, special guest Hello Kitty will be present too for an unforgettable Halloween event!
