The Sato Memorial Art Museum in the grounds of Toyama Castle exhibits the personal collection of Sato Sukukoro and is dedicated to the Japanese tea ceremony and its artifacts.

Sato Memorial Art Museum 富山佐藤記念美術館
Sato Memorial Art Museum is located in the grounds of Toyama Castle in Toyama city. It consists of two buildings: the old castle style structure opened in 1961 and a later single-story annex opened in 1993.
Sato Memorial Art Museum is named for its founder Sato Sukukoro (1896-1979), a local businessman, politician and later a member of the House of Peers. Established in 1961, the Sato Memorial Art Museum is dedicated to its founder's life-long interests in the tea ceremony, calligraphy, haiku and painting.
The museum was established with donations from the employees of Sato's company, Sato Kogyo, and houses a collection of over 1,300 exhibits.

The Sato Memorial Art Museum contains two original tatami-floored Japanese tea houses: Ryutei-an and Jo-an. The former comes originally from the family residence of a retainer of the Kaga clan in Kanazawa in nearby Ishikawa Prefecture. The latter was made in the 1940's for Sato's house in Tonami and was moved to the museum when it opened.
