After your stay in the capital, discover the two classics of the archipelago: Mount Fuji, symbol of Japan, and the traditional city of Kyoto.

Stays of 5 nights in Tokyo, 1 night in Hakone-Mount Fuji and 3 nights in Kyoto:

Note for hotels:
Single room additional fee is mandatory for any odd number of participants. However, triple rooms, depending on the hotel category, may be available upon request.
Please note that in case of single supplement, it will be applied in all accommodations except in the ryokan in Hakone. Indeed, for traditional accommodation, there are no single rooms but you will find spacious rooms for up to 5 people. 
The night in ryokan has some specificities. See Hakone-Mount Fuji step.

In Japan, a densely populated country where everything is smaller, the 2 ** and 3 *** hotels are of good quality but the rooms are often narrow (10 to 18m2 depending on the hotel). For more comfort, do not hesitate to contact us for an upgrade in a 4 **** hotel.

Rooms for 2 people in Western hotels have by default 2 separate single beds ("twin" room). Contact us to get a double bed at no extra cost but no guarantee of availability. Note that double bed rooms are smaller than twins.

* Flight prices by dates (with airport transfers included - by public transport in Tokyo and shared shuttle in Kyoto) are given for information only on the page "reservation basket". This price includes airport taxes which can be revised if necessary.

The departure dates in Tokyo and at the end of the tour in Kyoto concern your stay in Japan. You will need to take the plane the day before from Europe. The return flight, via Kansai International Airport (KIX), the nearest airport to Kyoto, is the same day given the favorable time difference.

Arrival at Tokyo Narita Airport or Tokyo Haneda (departure from Europe the day before). The plane (with airport transfers by public transport) is optional, you can choose it on the "booking basket" page.

Free tour of Tokyo and its region between two Olympic events.

Among the possibilities available to you, here our recommendations:
- The hectic neighborhoods of Shinjuku and Shibuya
- Ueno Park and Tokyo National Museum

A day without any Olympic event? Take the opportunity to discover the surroundings of the capital!

Many day trips are possible from Tokyo:
- The temples and shrines of Nikko, in the heart of the forest (about 2 h).
- The city of Kamakura and its large bronze Buddha (about 1h).

The countless "Izakaya" (typical Japanese bars) of Tokyo will welcome you for a beer and / or "yakitori" (chicken skewer).

Some essential excursions in Tokyo:
- Tokyo Sky Tree, culminating at 634 meters.
At its feet, the famous Sumo Ryogoku Kokugikan arena will host the boxing events during the Olympics!

For your last dinner in Tokyo, the "Kaitenzushi" (conveyor belt sushi) will please you!

HAKONE

Breakfast at the hotel.

Use your Hakone Free Pass to travel to Hakone at the foot of Mount Fuji and enjoy free transportation on site.

The city of Hakone is renowned for its splendid views of Mount Fuji and its relaxing hot springs.

Visit some essentials:
- Gora-koen Park
- Chokoku-no-mori, Japan's first Open Air Museum and its hundreds of sculptures
- Hakone Jinja Shrine
- Lake Ashi-no-ko, its Japanese portico torii with feet in the water and its breathtaking view of Mount Fuji
- The incredible volcanic site of Owakudani *

* The site may be inaccessible due to volcanic activity.

HAKONE

Traditional Japanese dinner (included in your tour) and night in your ryokan.

In Ryokan 3 ***, you sleep on comfortable futons on the tatami. The bathroom, onsen, is shared except if you choose the option "traditional bath in the room" ($135 / person).
In a 4-star ryokan, you sleep on futons or on Western beds in a traditional tatami room. The bathrooms are private.

KYOTO

Departure by direct shinkansen (Japanese bullet train - included) to Kyoto (about 2h30).

Start by discovering the treasures of the ancient capital:
- The Zen Garden of Ryoan-ji
- Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion)
- The bewitching Philosopher's path

Several excursions are possible around Kyoto:

- Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan where deer live in complete freedom (1h by train). Visit its iconic UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as Todaiji temple or Kasuga Taisha shrine.

- Off the beaten track for a tour of the tea fields in the countryside near Kyoto (optional, contact us).

- The famous and beautiful Himeji Castle (50 min from Kyoto by shinkansen).

KYOTO

Discover the Kyô-ryôri (culinary specialties of Kyoto) like the marinated vegetables “Tsukemono”.
