2. Hitachi Seaside Park (Ibaraki)

1h 30 from Tokyo, this 190-hectare park is one of the country's most famous flower gardens. What makes it special? Its hillside is covered with blue nemophila. While these are eye-catching in fine weather, the park is in bloom all year round: tulips and daffodils in spring, sunflowers in summer and kochia bushes in autumn. In addition to the gardens, the park features bicycle paths, an amusement park and oceanfront promenades.

Located at the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, this botanical park boasts over 400,000 plants of 2,400 species from all over the world! In Satte, Saitama Prefecture, Gongendo Park is one of the most popular parks in the Tokyo area when spring arrives. Built along an old dike, the park is known for its 1,000 cherry trees lined up over a kilometer. These contrast with the rapeseed fields planted at the foot of the trees, creating a highly photogenic landscape. In summer, hydrangeas take center stage, while in autumn, higanbana (red Japanese lilies) add color to the banks.
