A city like no other

An aquarium, a theme park dedicated to food, a planetarium, and dozens of shops... Welcome to Sunshine City, the Japanese mall!

The Sunshine 60 Tower stands out on the Ikebukuro skyline. With sixty floors, it forms the heart of the Sunshine City. Built in 1978, it is nicknamed "the city within the city", as its giant structure is filled with all forms of shopping, entertainment, and office space. It's easy to spend a whole day there as there is so much to do.

In addition to its huge shopping center and its plethora of restaurants, on the sixtieth floor, at 240 meters above the ground, the planetarium offers a panorama of Ikebukuro, for 620 yen. Perched equally high, the Sunshine International Aquarium holds the impressive title of "highest aquarium in the world" with its sharks, sea lions and other marine species.

Feeling peckish? Created by the video game brand, Namco, Namco Namja Town offer dozens of  kinds of ice cream and gyoza, tasty dumplings.
