Eco-friendly, practical and trendy, the bicycle is one of the favorite means of transport for the Japanese. The Tokyo Night PedalCru i sing Crew is surfing on this craze, a group offering to discover the Japanese capital by night by bike!
A different kind of tourism
Created in 2008 by Kiyota Nahoiro, the T okyo Night Pedal Cru i sing Crew welcomes new cyclists to its ranks every month. His mission ? Reconciling night tourism and urban cycling with friendliness and good humour.
Led by a few volunteer members of the Cycling Embassy of Japan , an association that campaigns for the rights of cyclists in Japan, the group organizes long bike rides every third Saturday of the month in the most famous districts of Tokyo .

With an average duration of three hours, the tours generally start at 5:30 p.m. at the United Nations University of Omotesando and end a few hours later at the other end of the capital. Ueno , Asakusa, or Odaiba , these are several neighborhoods that will be surveyed each month by the small group of cyclists equipped with ''security'' lights and cameras.
The towers then offer a new face of the Japanese capital. In the calm of the night and in the light of the street lamps, it is an unusual Tokyo, emptied of all its tourists , that cyclists can take the time to discover.

A friendly atmosphere
If the primary goal of the Tokyo Night Pedal Cru i sing is indeed to appreciate Tokyo's nocturnal landscapes, it goes without saying that the tours offer much more than a simple tourist visit .
Warm welcome at the start of the tour, group purchases of snacks at the University's Farmer's Market (a market that is part of an ecological approach by offering fruit and snacks bio at a lower cost), photo breaks and long discussions around the most popular places in travel guides, excursions are presented as a friendly human experience that will seduce bike lovers and multimedia enthusiasts alike .

Indeed, the group likes to film its nocturnal escapades ! Vlogs , remix videos, or even insta-stories , the Tokyo Night PedalCru i sing Crew is very present on social networks and never misses an opportunity to share nice shots of the city under a background of electro music. Music which is also an essential element of the tour since the audio equipment is part of the recommended equipment for the walk , with headphones and warm clothes.
Finally, note that the association also organizes special events during the year, such as during the Christmas celebrations where you will be invited to pedal through the streets of Tokyo disguised as Santa Claus .
How to participate ?
Each round is open to around ten participants. Places are to be reserved on the Official Facebook of the group and the excursions are free (only your purchases at the Farmer's Market will have to be paid directly on site).
Only imperative: bring a bike ! For the rest, the Tokyo Night CruisingCrew takes care of everything. And bonus, some volunteers speak very good English!
