Kamakura Discovery, Full Day

Kamakura, the seaside ancient capital of Japan

The opinion of Japan Experience

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and forested hills but also dotted with beautiful temples and shrines, Kamakura has a charm of its own. About only an hour from Tokyo by train, the old political capital of Japan (1192 –1333), has a laidback atmosphere, rocked by the sound of the waves and the bells of the Buddhist temples.

Your Travel Angel's plus

Isabelle has been living in Kamakura for more than 20 years now. It was the city’s temples, beach, and festive atmosphere that first attracted her. Then, she soon became passionate about the history of this ancient capital, its aura among artists and intellectuals at the beginning of the 20th century, and finally the numerous matsuri (traditional festivals, often with Shinto origins) won her over. She shares her passion for the area with everyone: locals, friends or visitors.

The itinerary for the day will be decided with your guide beforehand, depending on your interests. They can also prepare a "classic" itinerary, including visits to the most famous attractions. The full-day fee doesn’t include transportation, meals or site entrance fees for yourself or your guide.

Your guide will contact you to arrange the meeting point and decide which places you would like to visit. Once there, you will be able to buy a 570 yen one-day pass for yourself and your guide for the transportation around the city.

There is an additional fee for every extra person for groups larger than 4. Please note that children are considered as adults participants.
