A varied tour
Kobe, as a large city on the water, had to have an aquarium worthy of the name. Inaugurated in 1957, the Suma Aqualife Park is divided into several areas to get as close as possible to the underwater kingdom.
The Kobe Aqualife Park is one of the largest in Japan. Located just steps from the beach in Suma, it is a hybrid between a theme park and an aquarium.

The "Great Castle", a large covered building on three floors, is certainly the most original part. Between sky and sea, it offers not only to a pool where you can touch the fish and small sharks, but also a sea turtle pool and a terrace overlooking the bay.
In 2007, an underwater tunnel was added to the park, the first of its kind in Japan. Thus, in the tumult of the waves, visitors can view fish come from the Amazon, such as the dangerous piranhas and 3 m long arapaimas.
Show time
Just opposite the entrance, the park has an amphitheater for visitors to watch dolphin shows. A good opportunity to cool down during the summer heat, while watching the jumps and choreography of the dolphins. Less spectacular but even cuter, are the sea otters who are fed in public four times a day.
Relaxation
For younger children, part of the aquarium is an amusement park in the true sense of the word. a merry-go round, a train, a carousel, all reserved for the little ones. Be aware, all these activities have an additional cost.
