Unlike the sakura many are used to, shibazakura grow in clusters across fields and have a more vibrant pink tone. During later spring in Japan they bloom and provide a breathtaking landscape that everyone ought to see!

Near Lake Motosu, at the foot of Mount Fuji, the land is tinged with pink, red, purple, and white bands, which are celebrated during the " Fuji Shibazakura Matsuri" festival. This multicolored carpet made up of 800,000 shibazakura, located in the foreground of Mount Fuji dressed in white, forms an extraordinary landscape less than 3 hr by train from the capital.

To reach Fuji Motosuko Resort, travelers can take the JR train to Kawaguchiko Station and transfer to a seasonal bus bound for the resort. During major events such as the Fuji Shibazakura Festival, direct buses also operate from Kawaguchiko Station, making access to the flower fields at the base of Mount Fuji simple and convenient.
