To all apprentice wizards and those still waiting for their letter to Hogwarts, discover this new studio, already a must-see, on your list of visits. The newest addition to Warner Bros. Studios, Studio Tour Tokyo - The Making of Harry Potter, opened its doors on June 16, 2023 in the suburbs of Tokyo. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the magical world of Harry Potter, as well as Fantastic Beasts, an exclusive new feature of this new park.
Located in Nerima, a residential suburb of Tokyo, and built on the former site of the Toshimaen amusement park, this new Harry Potter studio tour covers 30,000 m², making it the largest indoor park in the world! Here, you can explore numerous life-size film sets and discover exclusive features only available in the Tokyo park!
Discover the magical world of Harry Potter
During a 4-hour visit, you'll stroll through the mythical sets of the various films, the many props used during filming or reproduced identically, and the actors' costumes (in 10 years of filming, over 25,000 costume elements were created). But you'll also meet Dobby, Buck, Aragog and many other magical creatures during your visit, and learn more about the animation process, special effects and the magic trick used to bring objects to life! Last but not least, you'll also have the chance to discover the Warners Bros art department, with its filmed models of Hogwarts castle, Hagrid's cabin and the boathouse. In all, 86 artists worked on the project!

New features to discover
Warners Bros is emphasizing the interactivity of the sets and animations in this brand-new Tokyo studio, making them truly magical. Visitors stroll through numerous scenes from the films, reproduced absolutely identically and life-size. Lulled throughout the visit by the music of John Williams, the films' composer, you'll also learn more about the staging, choice of costumes, direction and so on. Each of the rooms you'll pass through is staged by mannequins wearing the actors' clothes and accessories used during filming. You'll be able to catch a glimpse of Emma Watson's famous pink dress worn at the Christmas ball in Goblet of Fire, or one of Dumbledore's iconic wizard's robes worn during his hunt for horcruxes in the latest installments.
- The real highlight of the new studio is the magical Hogwarts staircase leading to the various common rooms! The studio's directors have made possible what every fan dreams of seeing: the staircase moving and changing direction! You'll also have the chance to have your photo taken and appear in the moving pictures.
- The second major attraction, which will transport you straight to the heart of the wizarding world, is the magnificent life-size reproduction of the Ministry of Magic! Stroll around the Fountain of the Magical Fraternity and through the doors of the Trial Chamber.

Fantastic animals, an exclusive
For the first time at Warners Bros Studio, the Tokyo tour features sets from the Fantastic Beasts saga. You'll plunge into a whole new world dotted with reproductions of magical animals, greeted as you enter the studio by a huge dragon, the majestic Spiked Magyar! You'll also be able to enjoy some scenes from the new saga, such as those on the train, when Jacob Kowalski finds himself swept into this magical new world.
The studio is also working on other scenes, such as rehabilitating the old Toshimaen train station into the beautiful British-style station that appears in one of the latest installments.

What scenes will you discover during your visit to these new Harry Potter studios?
- Le chemin de transverse: On this popular, bustling street, you can pick up your wand at Ollivander's, choose your pet, drink a butterbeer at the tavern, pick up a few gallions at Grigotte's, or drop by the Weasley twins' Trick-or-Treat store for mischievous wizards!
- Pier 9 3/4 : Its magical wall and the Hogwarts Express! You can visit the carriages and the staged characters.
- Hogwarts Castle: the Great Hall is a must-see exhibition, with a magical setting that will transport you straight to the heart of the film.

Throughout the visit, you'll appreciate the many sets dedicated to the various opuses, such as the giant chessboard from the first opus, the scene of Aunt Marge inflating at Privet Drive, and the magicobus from the 3ᵉ opus The Prisoner of Askaban, or the many references and objects from the 4ᵉ film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!
Obligatory stop for a delicious Butterbeer
Finally, the tour ends with a stop at the studio's Cauldron-style pub for delicious butterbeer, British-inspired menus and a whole range of magical treats. The world's largest Harry Potter store also awaits you, offering a vast array of gifts, souvenirs, stationery and much more, many of which are only available at Tokyo's Studio Tour!
