From November 27, 2017, you can explore Tokyo Bay and Odaiba by hippopotamus, thanks to the new "Tokyo no Kaba" water bus!

The "Tokyo no Kaba" (Tokyo Hippopotamus) bus departs from the artificial island of Odaiba, south of Tokyo. It's a hybrid vehicle that transports you by land first, past buildings and entertainment centers, before returning to the port and entering the waters of Tokyo Bay, taking you to the famous Rainbow Bridge.
A total length of twelve meters in length, Tokyo no Kaba can carry up to 38 people at a time and offers guided tours in 5 foreign languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Thai and Indonesian).

Tokyo no Kaba: an original way to travel
The hippopotamus (kaba) vehicle was designed by Eiji Mitooka, famous for his industrial designs, as well as being behind the Seven Stars luxury train service on the island of Kyushu. Set up for the 2020 Olympic Games, the company behind "Tokyo no Kaba" expects 60,000 visitors a year.
In fact, the Kaba boat-bus already exists in Yamanashi, and allows you to explore the surroundings of Lake Yamanaka!

Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and costs between 3,500 yen / $31 (adults) and 1,700 yen / $15 (children from 4 years old).
Access: Take the Yurikamome line to Odaiba (Odaiba Kaihinkoen or Daiba station), then go to Aqua City.
