Abeno Harukas in Osaka 

Abeno Harukas in Abeno ward, Osaka, is Japan's tallest building at 300m, as opposed to its tallest structure/tower which is the Tokyo Skytree in Tokyo at 634m. Abeno Harukas is 4m taller than the next tallest building in Japan, the Yokohama Landmark Tower.

The Abeno Harukas building, which opened in March 2014, has 62 floors, is multi-purpose and includes the Osaka Abenobashi Station on the ground floor, the Abeno Harukas Kintetsu department store, the Abeno Harukas Art Museum on the 16th floor, a roof top garden space also on the 16th floor, the 5-star, 360-room Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel and an observation deck on the top floors with incredible views out over Osaka.

Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Department Store

The Kintetsu department store in Abeno Harukas is the largest department store in Japan with a floor area of 100,000 square meters, stretching from the second basement floor to the 14th floor.

Ladies' fashion dominates the lower floors, plus men's fashion, sports, kids' fashion, bridal, watches and gifts higher up. Stores of note include Armani, Aquascutum, Diesel, Gucci, Mikimoto, Rolex, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany, Hello Kitty, Adidas, Burberry, Issey Miyake, Wedgewood and Puma with tax free shopping available for foreign visitors. The 12-14th floors are packed with restaurants offering a mid-boggling variety of Japanese and foreign cuisine.

Free Wifi "D-Kintetsu" is available throughout the store with foreign exchange available at the Senshu Ikeda Bank on B1F of the Wing Building. Domestic and overseas delivery of purchased goods by the Japan Post EMS service is available on the same floor.

Tickets for the observation deck, Harukas 300, can be bought on the 16th floor and cost 1,500 yen. The two floors include a sky park and a light show in the evening. The observation deck is open 9 am-10 pm. Reserved tickets can also be bought online and from Family Mart convenience stores and cost 2,000 yen.

Abeno Harukas Art Museum

The Abeno Harukas Art Museum on the 16th floor offers various temporary exhibitions throughout the year in the time-honored style of department store museums in Japan.

The Abeno Harukas Art Museum is open from 10 am-8 pm and closed on Monday or the following day if Monday is a public holiday in Japan. Previous exhibitions have featured art from Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture, French Post-Impressionism including Georges-Pierre Seurat and the art of Raoul Dufy.

Located on the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas, visitors can also enjoy the outdoor gardens on the same floor and great views over Osaka towards over Tsutenkaku Tower in Shinsekai and Shitennoji Temple.
