Surf City Japan

Surfing is one of the five new sports pre-selected in September 2015 by Japan and approved in August 2016 by the IOC. A great recognition of this increasingly popular sport recognized throughout the world!

Chiba Prefecture

Chiba has not only superb beaches but also awe-inspiring landscapes.

In the south of the Boso peninsula, the rice terraces, Oyama Senmaida, are among the "100 most beautiful rice terraces in Japan" while the Yôrô valley is famous for its autumn foliage and the waterfalls of the Yoro River.

The prefecture is also home to important sacred places such as Seicho-ji, Narita-san, and even Nihon-ji in the mountains.   Nokogiri-yama with its huge Buddha statue 31 meters high carved out of the mountain.

Whether you are beach or countryside, Chiba has it all!
