1. Aoyama Flower Market Tea House 


With three cafes in Tokyo (Omotesando, Akasaka and Kichijoji), Aoyama Flower Market Tea House is certainly one of the most popular cafe chains in the capital. The cozy atmosphere is very nice for anyone who wants to relax surrounded by greenery in bustling central Tokyo, and its cakes and tea selection will delight the eyes and tastebuds of foodies and users of Instagram.

2. Alfred Tea Room

Straight from Los Angeles, Alfred Tea Room opened in Tokyo in 2017. Specializing in iced teas and bubble tea, this all-pink coffee is now a hit on Instagram thanks to its cute feminine decor and its humorous slogan "Tea Yes, You, Maybe". There are now two Alfred Tea Room cafes in Tokyo: one in Shinjuku and one in Omotesando.

3. Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory

In Setagaya, Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory will entice all fans of the Ghibli universe. With its Totoro-shaped cream puffs (from the popular film of the same name "My Neighbor Totoro'') and its affordable lunch menus, this cafe will win the hearts of young and old alike. Its charming wooden décor will remind Miyazaki fans of the homely, country atmosphere of many of his movies.

Also note that the puffs come in four flavors: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and mango. They also offer limited edition seasonal flavours throughout the year.

4. SALON Bake & Tea


Very popular on social media for its mouthwatering american-style parfaits, Salon Bake & Tea is a pleasant cafe located in the NEW WoMan shopping center in Shinjuku. Served in tall glasses, the parfait are definitely the stars of the show! They come in several flavor variations, and match perfectly with the salon's 11 house tea blends.

Not a parfait fan? Don't worry! The cafe also offers other desserts well known to lovers of French pastries, such as macarons, Mont Blanc and even the Tropezienne!

5. Q-POT Cafe

Created by the fashion chain of the same name, Q-POT Cafe draws its inspiration directly from its clothing line: a refined yet sweet, colorful style, like the dollhouses of our childhood!

Jewel-shaped sweets, teapots straight out of a children's storybook... the Q-POT Cafe definitely brings the kawaii to the table! And it works, judging by the dozens of customers lining up every day at the door, located close to the bustling Harajuku area. Especially when the cafe offers ever-changing special themed menus in conjunction with Sailor Moon, Pokémon, or to celebrate Halloween.
